YourLegacies.com is all about helping people create legacies. There are many different kinds of legacies, and the one that we most fervently hope to be able to help people with is leaving a legacy of reconciliation and restoration, especially between family members. We're not lawyers or pastors or even professional counselors, so we can't claim to have their level of service. But we have been able to help several of our own relatives patch things up, and we've had the opportunity a couple times to use this on ourselves too, to repair a broken relationship between us and someone else in our family. So we do have some experience, and a little training too, and we've seen God use us in this area. Who knows, perhaps we'll be able to help in your situation too.
The Apostle Paul says, in II Corinthians 5:18-19, "Now all these things are from God, Who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation."
So with that in mind, and with your approval,* we would have a private and prayerful interview with you, after which we would craft a letter which you can sign and send to your estranged family member or friend, which will create an atmosphere of reconciliation and forgiveness between the two of you, hopefully leading to the restoration of your relationship. Or, if you want, we could even arrange to mediate directly or indirectly between you and the other party, or to facilitate negotiations between you, or even to arbitrate between you. We are willing to do whatever is necessary, within our means and the law, if it could help you be reconciled with your loved one.
We would even agree to do this for situations potentially involving civil legal proceedings, including for small businesses, so as to avoid the use of lawyers and the courts. After all, I Corinthians 6:1-2 says, "Does any one of you, when he has a case against his brother, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints? Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?"
Again, we do not claim to have any professional basis for offering this service. We simply want to help people be reconciled with each other, as that is something that God has laid on our hearts. Also, because of our lack of professional standing, we feel that we cannot reasonably charge any fee for this service. We would require any expenses to be reimbursed, but beyond that, all we would ask is that you consider donating whatever you feel our service was worth to you. For businesses engaging these services, we will need to charge our standard $20 / hour for our time, plus expenses.
Our Privacy Policy: Anything shared with us under this program will be strictly confidential, except if we are required to divulge information by a court of law or to prevent a future breach of the law. We reserve the right to recommend any case to professional counseling or legal services if we deem the situation beyond our ability to handle it properly.
* We require you to sign a statement of authorization for this, in which you also indemnify YourLegacies.com and its owners and employees of any liability for situations or actions resulting from our Reconciliation Services. We don't expect there to be any problems, but you never know, these days. If you engage us to mediate, negotiate, or arbitrate any disagreement between you and another party, your statement of authorization will also include an agreement to be bound by whatever decision is reached at the end of the process, and it must be signed by both you and the other party.
