Your Legacies

In today's computerized, ultra-fast world, with long commutes, even longer workweeks, and ever-increasing impersonalization being the norm, people are looking for a sense of belonging, of connection with other people.  The threat of terrorism in our own country has also made us realize how fragile our lives really are.  These and other reasons are causing all Americans to try to find ways to strengthen and renew their family relationships and close friendships.  After all, when it comes down to it, family is all you've got.

People are getting older all the time, and unfortunately we eventually pass on.  We have such a treasure in our grandparents and other relatives and the stories they have, the things they lived through.  But those stories are going away with the older generation, and many of them aren't being passed down to the younger generations.  Do your children know your grandparents like you knew them?  Can they even recognize them in your old photos?  We have such a wonderful heritage, especially here in the Shenandoah Valley, but we need to pass it on to our children.
